Vacation Bible School (VBS) is now Kids Klub! We usually host a summer event for children between the ages of 5 to 12 years, that is open to both church and community members. We use this time to sing songs, listen to Bible stories, play games and make crafts. Click here to be redirected to our Kids Klub page! If you would like to hear updates from us, please send us a note via ebenezerkidsklub@gmail.com and we will add you to our mailing list.
Catechism Instruction: In Matthew 28:19-20, the Lord Jesus Christ said that we’re not only to baptize people, we’re also to teach them how to be followers of Christ. In obedience to that call, we have a practice of teaching the youth of the church in the context of a Bible class we call “catechism.” The young people attend classes in which they are taught the doctrines of the church. These classes begin most often at the age of twelve and continue until such a time as these young members express a desire to publicly profess their faith and to be admitted to the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
In these classes the Heidelberg Catechism is used as the teaching guide. Once the students are sufficiently at home in the Scriptures and the Catechism, attention often shifts to the other confessions and history of the church. These classes are usually taught by the local pastor, though the pastor may be assisted by an elder or by other able church members.
Bible Study Groups: Group Bible study is an important way for us as Christians to grow in our understanding of God’s word, to grow in faith, and to encourage one another in our daily walk with the Lord. Therefore the study of God’s Word by the members is an ongoing activity in our church. Bible study usually begins in the early fall, continues throughout the winter months and concludes in late spring. During this time a book of the Bible is usually studied in an in-depth manner. From time to time, certain Bible themes, different ethical topics, modern day issues, or the confessions of the church may also be dealt with in a systematic way.
We have a number of different groups that meet, this includes groups of teens, young peoples, adults, men and women.
New Membership Classes: We also provide classes for those who are new to the faith, seek membership in the church, or are interested in exploring what the Christian faith is all about.
Prayer Meetings: We meet monthly at the church for a prayer meeting. Have a prayer request? Please consider sharing it with us via prayerrequestseecrc@gmail.com.
